Len Martin Patton

Len Martin Patton, 88, of Morganton, NC went home to be with his Lord Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at his residence.  Born April 2, 1930 in Burke County, NC he was a son of the late Hence Patton and Edith Bolding Patton.

Mr. Patton was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.  He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Military Police.  Len loved his family, especially his grandchildren and church family.  He enjoyed working with his hands.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Alfred, Una, Roanie, Don, Robert, Nelson, Logan, John Wesley, Jacob, Doug, Harold, and Willard Patton; and sisters, Rosa Lee Patton, Fannie Patton, Bertie Branch, and Elizabeth Lane.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of sixty-one years, Nancy Patton; children, Harry Patton (Jackie), Victoria Norman (Walter), and Stephen Patton (Kelly); grandchildren, Mitchell Meadows (Amy), Rachel Browning, Sheri Smith (Ronald, Jr.), Stephanie Patton (Clay), Sharon Patton, Jeremy Keiser (Alysa) and Mary Keiser; and eleven great-grandchildren.  Also including are siblings, Troy Patton (Joann), David Patton, Edward Patton (Karen), Eldorado Norman (Dallas), Edith Worsham (Darrell), and Kaye Cline (Carl); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 19 at Mount Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Gantt officiating.  The burial will follow in Mount Olive Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the North Carolina National Guard.
