Lena Webb Lail

Lena Webb Lail, 95, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother died Thursday, December 29, 2011. She was born in Caldwell County on April 28, 1916 and was a daughter of the late Joseph Baker Webb and Laura Courtney Webb. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lail was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert H. Lail; five brothers; and six sisters. She attended Lail Road Community Church.Surviving are her daughters, Elizabeth Lail White of Weirsdale, Fla., Laura Lail Silver and her husband, James, of Lincolnton, Betty Lail Bradley and her husband, Mark of Drexel, and Linda Lail Helms, and her husband, Tommy of Glen Alpine; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Janet Pendley, June Smith, Ada Scott, and Miss Loma.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Glen Alpine Cemetery with Reverends Boyd Biggerstaff and Harold Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at Lail Road Community Church following the graveside service.
