Leon Foss

Leon Foss, 76 of Morganton passed away Monday, May 9, 2022. Mr. Foss was born May 2, 1946 in Burke County to the late Fred William Foss and Odell Bumgarner Foss.

He was a graduate of Salem High School 1965 and Western Piedmont Community College. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and an avid collector of antique cars. Mr. Foss owned and operated Century Barbershop and Baton Hardware Store in Caldwell County. He worked in Law Enforcement with The City of Morganton Dept. of Public Safety and the Burke County Sherriff Office, where he retired as a Patrol Sergeant.  He was also a member of the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club.  He was well respected in the Law Enforcement Community. He was known for his joking and grand sense of humor. He loved to meet with his retiree friends and breakfast buddies at McDonalds and will be so missed by all his family and friends.

Leon is survived by his Children Lance Foss, Kendall Foss Brown (Adam) and Chase Foss (Heather). His grandchildren Brittany Brown, Reagan Foss, Kaleb Brown, Parker Brown, Jaxon Brown, Brigam Brown, Lana Foss, Cooper Foss and Tinlee Grace Foss. Great-Grandchildren, Griffin Brown and Luka Brown. Sister Rosalita Foss Rufty-Cohee and his faithful Puppy Daisy.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 11 2022 from 4pm-7pm at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Thursday May 12, 2022 at 11am in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. David Stikeleather officiating. Entombment will follow at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
