Leroy H. Linfield, 77, of Glen Alpine, NC passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016. Born in Burke County, NC on January 8, 1939, he was the son of the late Eugene Linfield and Florence Linfield. Leroy worked for Pitts Lumber Company in Glen Alpine and retired from Burke Grading. He was a very generous person who loved helping people.
Mr. Linfield is survived by is wife, Maggie Mull Linfield of the home; a son, Sandy Leroy Linfield and his wife, Lynn, of Glen Alpine; a daughter, Cindy Ann Linfield of Glen Alpine; grandchildren, Kenny Linfield, Bo Linfield, Marisa Moses, Danny Harrison Linfield, and Joy Lee Linfield; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Paton, Trubey, Josephine, Allea, and Lane; and a sister, Joann McKinney.
The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 p.m., Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The graveside service will be held at 5 p.m., Monday, May 30 at McDowell Independent Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dennis Carswell officiating.
