Lester William “Bill” McKinney, Jr.

Lester William “Bill” McKinney, Jr., 58, of Morganton, NC passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017.  Born in Burke County, NC on April 8, 1958, he was the son of Joann Evelynn Linfield McKinney and the late Lester William McKinney, Sr.  Bill was a member of Morganton First Church of God.

Mr. McKinney is survived by Barbara Fleming and husband, Rick, of South Carolina, Ramona Fricke of Oregon, Donna Waddell of Morganton, Lisa Lloyd and husband, Dennis, of Morganton, and Carol Church of Morganton; a number of nieces and nephews; and several very good friends.

In addition to his father, Lester was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Stamey.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The funeral will be held at 2 pm, Friday, March 3, 2017 in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Don Smith and the Rev. John McDivitt officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
