Lillian Clark Monn

Lillian Clark Monn, 96, of Morganton, NC went to her heavenly home on Thursday, April 14, 2016.  Born in Collinsville, IL on November 23, 1919, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Clark and Edith G. Tempest Clark.  Lillian was a member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church and retired from Huffman Hosiery Mills.

Mrs. Monn is survived by her daughter, Shirley Dobson of Morganton; a step-son, Donald Monn of Florida; step-daughters, Rosalie Steffey of Morganton and Mary Ellen Rose of Virginia; a granddaughter, Debbie Dobson of Morganton; thirty-three step-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill Clark of Valdese.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde L. Monn; step-sons, Gerald, Clyde, and Bill Monn; a step-daughter, Betty Miller; a son-in-law, Bobby Dobson; a brother, John Clark; and two sisters, Mildred Martin and Edith Carter.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 p.m., Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Cross Memorial Baptist Church.  The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Dr. Jeffery Beach and the Rev. Dr. Jack Shoemaker, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
