Lillian Marie Swink Pruett of Morganton, beloved wife and mother, went home to her Heavenly Savior on Sunday, June 1, 2014. Lillian was born in Cleveland County, NC on April 16, 1930 to the late William Lewis Swink and Dannie Alice Beaver Swink. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Elmer and brother, Lemuel "Fay" Swink.
Lillian worked for many years at Skyland Textiles and eventually retired from Broughton Hospital. Lillian was an active member of Missionary Ridge Baptist Church and enjoyed many road trips with her friends and members of the church.
Lillian is survived by her husband of 64 years, Gene; children, Dolores Jean Huffman and husband, Claude of Morganton, Barry Lewis Pruett of the home, and Tracy Lynne Fiano of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Jeremy Huff of Valdese, Rachel Pruett of the home, Dana Newton of Hudson, NC and Lauren Fiano of Houston, Texas, and a nephew, Gary L. Swink of Morganton.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 6, 2014 at Missionary Ridge Baptist Church with the Reverends Al Tinnin and Donald Lovelace officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Thursday at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the residence on Salem Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Missionary Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund, 5612 John Watts Road, Morganton, North Carolina 28655.
