Lillian McKinney Davis

Lillian McKinney Davis, 77, of 3rd Ave. NE, Conover, NC, died March 3rd, 2006 at Catawba Medical Center in Hickory, NC. She was born June 30th, 1928 in Mitchell County, NC. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, O.V. Davis; parents, Charlie and Dora Greene McKinney; and two brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Davis was a long-time member of Bollinger’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

Lillian is survived by her son, Charles Davis of Lewiston, ID; daughters, Brenda Davis of Chicago, IL and Nancy Beam of Taylorsville, NC; sisters, Opal Young of Drexel, NC, and Vergie Carpenter and Lois Boone, both of Conover, NC; four grandchildren, Matthew Thomas of Nampa, ID, Heidi Schlatter of Cleveland, OH, Jennifer Davis of Lewiston, ID, and Joel Davis of Boise, ID; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 6th, 2006 in Bollinger’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Fletcher officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be held at a later date in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park in Adrian, Michigan. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 210 3rd Avenue, NE, Apt. 19, Conover, NC. Memorial contributions may be made to Bollinger’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 1215 Carolina Street SE, Valdese, NC 28690. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
