Linda Ann Gale

Linda Ann Gale, 81, of Statesville, NC went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 14, 2020.  Born in Mississippi on December 2, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Johnny B. Smith and Maybelle Jones Smith.  Linda was a member of Eastway Baptist Church in Charlotte where she had served as W.M.U. Director.

Linda graduated from Drexel High School in 1958.  In 1983 she received her Associate in Applied Science for accounting from Central Piedmont Community College.  Linda worked for AT&T in Charlotte and H&R Block.

Mrs. Gale is survived by her sisters, Bennie Miller of Hickory; brothers, Alva Lee Smith of Valdese and Ralph Smith of Loris, SC; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Jean Payne, Pauline Craig, and Sue Faye Evans; brother, J.B. Smith, Jr.; niece, Janet Leigh Cooke; and nephew, Paxton Parlier.

The graveside service for Linda will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, December 18, 2020 at Burke Memorial Park with Rev. Kenneth Baker officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eastway Baptist Church in Charlotte.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
