Linda Branch Walker

Linda Branch Walker, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Burke Palliative Care Center. She was born in Burke County on July 4, 1945 and was a daughter of the late Ralph James Branch and Rosie Beatrice Baker Branch. Linda worked at Grace Hospital as a surgical technician and retired two years ago after 37 years of service.Surviving are her children, Alan Jones of Morganton, Kimberly Brooks of Valdese, and Jeff Lyle of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren, Heather Brooks of Valdese, Bailey Jones of Conover, and Lauren Brooks Luckadoo of Morganton; her siblings, Ralph James Branch, Jr. of Charleston, SC, Robert Branch and Pansy McGee both of Clayton, NC; a son-in-law, Christopher Brooks of Asheboro; and a number of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February, 27, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour before the service.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with medical expenses.
