Linda Champion, 68, of Morganton went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 3, 2018. Born in Caldwell County, NC on September 2, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Kenner Fred Bell and Cecil Kincaid Bell. Linda was a member of Friendly Freewill Baptist Church and retired from Blue Ridge Healthcare with over 20 years of service.
Mrs. Champion is survived by her husband, Kenneth Champion of the home; sons, Terry Kale (Kim) of Lenoir, Michael Kale of Lenoir, and Scottie Kale of Morganton; daughters, Sandy Champion of Morganton, Donna Kale of Morganton, Tammy Dyson (Randy) of Lenoir, and Kelly Champion (Mona Russell) of Valdese; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Norman Bell of Glen Alpine and Rodney Bell (Wanda) of Lenoir; and sisters, Jean Lane (Leon) of Glen Alpine, Cathy Frye (David) of Granite Falls, and Frances Clark (Brad) of Lenoir.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a son, Kendal Dustin Kale; and a brother, Gary Bell.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2018 at Friendly Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. in the church with Revs. Paul Grindstaff and Allen Fredell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
