Linda D. Perry

Linda D. Perry, 66, died Tuesday, August 25, 2009, following a 10 month long illness. She was born in Burke County on June 29, 1943 and was a daughter of the late Victor Columbus Davis and Annie Mae Harris Davis. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who enjoyed spending time with her family, attending church, gardening, needlework, and fishing with her best friend, her husband, Steve. She was a devoted member of Fairview United Methodist Church.Surviving are her husband, Steve M. Perry; daughters, Karen P. Coleman and her husband, Dean, Vivian P. Clarke, and Stephanie P. Smith and her husband, Stephen; grandchildren, Deanna and D. J. Coleman, Sierra Clarke, Kelsey Williamson, and Hunter and Katelyn Smith; her sister, Louise Smith and her husband, John; brothers, Jim Davis and his wife, Carole, Edd Davis, and Larry Saulman; and a number of nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Mode, and by brothers, Danny Davis and Ned Davis.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009, at Fairview United Methodist Church with the Reverends Ed Stephenson and Michael Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Sossoman Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes before the funeral hour. At other times the family will be at the home, 3345 Brown Mountain Beach Rd., Morganton.
