Linda Joyce Whisnant

Linda Joyce Whisnant, 54, of Spainhour Road, Morganton, NC died Friday, May 29, 2009 at Valdese Hospital. Born in Forsyth County, NC on December 21, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Roy Jacob Jordan and Celia Elizabeth Baugus Jordan. Linda was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and worked at Henredon Furniture Company for twenty-one years.Loved by all and who will be greatly missed, Linda is survived by her husband, Philip Wayne Whisnant of the home; brothers, Roy Lee Jordan and wife, Debbie, of Greensboro, NC, A.J. Jordan and wife, Teresa Brittain, of Morganton, and Robert Jordan and wife, Cindy, of Morganton; a mother-in-law, Mary Whisnant of Morganton; a brother-in-law, Steve Whisnant of Morganton; and 9 nephews, 2 nieces, and 11 great-nephews and great-nieces.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, June 1, 2009 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Rocky McLendon officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the residence of Philip Whisnant.
