Linda Sue Causby Denton

Linda Sue Causby Denton, 69 of Nebo, NC, the Longtown Community, died Monday, June 16, 2014 at Sunrise Rehabilitation and Care in Nebo. Born July 31, 1944 in Burke County, NC, she was a daughter of the late L. E. "Pete" Causby and Sallie Toney Causby. She was a retired employee of Broughton Hospital where she worked for thirty years. Linda loved to paint and make crafts. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Denton; a daughter, Dawn Benfield; brothers, Mal Everett Causby and Carl "Buddy" Causby; and a sister, Helen Crabtree. The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the nurses and other staff of Sunrise Rehab for the loving care they provided to Linda.

Surviving are her children, Tommy Denton and wife, Debra of Morganton, Debbie Denton of Wilmington, NC, and Donna Buchanan and husband, Scott of Connelly Springs, NC; grandchildren, Jonathan Denton and wife, Heather, Alisha Denton all of Morganton, and Christopher Denton and wife, Katie of Wilmington, NC; a sister-in-law, Nell Causby of Morganton; and a number of nephews and nieces.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 19, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with the Rev. Gyles Widner officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Alpine Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour before the service.
