Linda Watson Anderson

Linda Watson Anderson, 72, of Morganton went home to be with the Lord and her loving husband on Monday, April 22, 2019.  Born in Burke County, NC on September 8, 1946, she was the daughter of the late John Ralph Watson and Grace Irene Benfield Watson.  Linda was a faithful member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church.  She was a loving, devoted Mother and Nana who loved her family dearly.  She especially enjoyed family gatherings and was the family historian.  Linda was dedicated to her 1964 Glen Alpine graduating class.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her daughters, Terri Lynne Anderson Bourne, Christy Leanne Anderson, and Jodi Anderson Baker (Jeff); grandchildren, Brandon Ray Deyton, Bradley Anderson Deyton (Sherry Leann Deyton), Sarah Kathryn Auton (Raven), Katelyn Hope White, and McKenzie Rene White; great-grandchildren, Avery Anderson Deyton, Vincent Daniel Wesley Auton, Victor Daniel Wade Auton, and Luna Shea Rheanne Auton; sisters, Wilma Watson Head (Kenneth), Vickie Gaye Watson; mother-in-law, Lena Jerome; 2 nieces; 2 nephews; and a large extended family.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Carl Anderson, Jr.; Sister, Thelma “Jean” Watson; father-in-law, Carl Anderson; and sister-in-law, Carliss Anderson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2019 at Glen Alpine United Methodist Church with Rev. Barbara Boyd Mayo officiating.  Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
