Lloyd Junior “Bud” Avery

Lloyd Junior “Bud” Avery, 85, of Morganton passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021.  Born in Caldwell County, NC on July 14, 1936, he was the son of the late Fouse and Stella Avery.  Bud was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of Celebration Family Worship Center.

Mr. Avery is survived by his wife, Debra Branch Avery; son, Jeff Glenn Avery; brother, Elmer Lee Avery (Marie); and sisters, Shirley Marine Jenkins and Geneve Gail Ross.

In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his first wife, Alma Elizabeth Saulman Gates; second wife, Lovera Bell McCall Avery; brothers, Gary Robert Avery, Larry Dale Avery, and Curtis Eugene Avery; and sisters, Malease Tilly Avery and Donnie Ludella Avery.

A celebration of Bud’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, August 13, 2021 at Celebration Family Worship Center (in New Dimension’s School) with Rev. Rocky McLendon officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the NC National Guard.  The family will greet friends following the service.
