Lois Louise Lowery

Lois Louise Lowery, 81, of Morganton died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Frye Regional Medical Center following a period of declining health. Born in Rutherford County, NC on November 20, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Caleb Wishion and Novella Waters Wishion. Lois was a member of Faith Temple Baptist Church. Lois enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking for her family, and picnicking in the mountains with her family.A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lois is survived by her sons, Billy Lowery and his wife, Irene, and Junior Lowery and his wife, Tracy, all of Morganton; daughters, Mary Lowery and Jannie Lou Lowery, both of Morganton; three step-sons, Henry, Ronnie, and Donnie Smith, all of Morganton; a step-daughter, September Stallings of Lenoir, NC; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Troy and J.C. Wishion, both of Rutherfordton; a sister, Claudia Mae Wishion of Rutherfordton; and the father of her children, Rev. Julius Lowery.In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and one grandson.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2012 in Faith Temple Baptist Church with the Reverends Ralph Boyd and Roger Gallion officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home until the body is placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the funeral hour.
