Lois Smith Hinceman

Lois Smith Hinceman, 81, of Steamer Lane, Morganton, NC died Friday, March 10, 2006 at Valdese General Hospital following a period of declining health. She was born November 20, 1924 in Burke County, NC, and was a daughter of the late Ira E. Smith, Sr. and Una Belle Denton Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Daniel Hinceman, Sr. Lois was a member of Brown Mountain Baptist Church.

She is survived by sons, Robert Banks Hinceman and wife, Janis of Morganton, and Charles Daniel Hinceman, Jr. and wife, Carla of Sioux Falls, SD; a brother, Ira E. Smith, Jr. of Morganton; sisters, Edith Smith Renfroe of Clemmons, NC, Jean Smith Neal of Springfield, MO, and Una Christine Smith Reep of Nebo, NC; grandchildren, Robert Banks Hinceman, Jr. and wife, Renee, Marcus Todd Hinceman and wife, Monica, and Benjamin Daniel Hinceman; and great grandchildren, Madison Taylor Hinceman, Hunter Grant Hinceman, Lakelyn Delaney Hinceman, and Casey Banks Hinceman.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Monday, March 13, 2006 at Brown Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. T. B. Deese officiating. Burial will follow at Calvin Heights Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Sossoman Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes before the funeral hour.
