Lola Lucille Chester Duckworth Isaacs, 81, of Tank Hill Place, Lenoir, NC died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Kindred Hospital, Greensboro, NC. Born September 9, 1926 in Burke County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Lindsey L. and Essie Mae Lingle Chester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Roscoe Duckworth; a daughter, Kimberly Sue Bartolo; brothers, Maynard, Gene, and Carl Chester; and sisters, Ruth Curtis, Virginia Williamson, Bertha Price, and Florence Penley.Surviving are her husband, Larkin Lovell Isaacs of the home; sons, William T. Duckworth and his wife, Cindy of Morganton, Robert L. Duckworth and his wife, Lisa of Reidsville, NC, and Thomas L. Duckworth of Lenoir; daughters, D. Joann Nichols Chester and Pamela J. Duckworth both of Lenoir, C. Lynn Duckworth of Taylorsville, NC, Theresa Blankenship and her husband, Ray and Carla Duckworth all of Lenoir; brothers, Albert Chester of Grosse Pointe, MI, Ronald Chester of Morganton, and Howard Chester of Lenoir; sisters, Faye Witcher of Morganton and Sue Fruitaker; 19 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.The funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2008 at Shining Light Baptist Church, 306 Carbon City Rd., Morganton (828-439-8100) with the Rev. Danny Castle officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday beginning at 1:30 p.m. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family.
