Lora Isis Oxford Lowdermilk

Lora Isis Oxford Lowdermilk, 49, of Morganton passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012 surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Burke County, NC on July 1, 1963, she was the daughter of Mary Isis Seagle Oxford and the late Charles Richard Oxford. Lora was a lifelong member of Grace Episcopal Church. She was a former employee of the Foothills Area Program and retired from Burke County Government. She established the Coupon Club which met at the Morganton Recreation Center and was very active in the Freedom High School Class of 1981. Lora was very active in the community and loved to cook, especially during the holidays.A loving wife and mother, Lora is survived by her husband, Jeff Lowdermilk; son, Jordan Spencer Lowdermilk and daughter, Jade Isis Lowdermilk, both of the home; her mother, Mary Seagle Oxford; a sister, Susan Oxford Arrowood, her husband, Brian, and their daughter, Grace, who was very dear to Lora; and a friend, Susan Kincaid and her husband, Jimmy.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 24, 2012 at Grace Episcopal Church with the Rev. Francis King and the Rev. Deacon Mike Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
