Lottie Chapman Bowen, 98, of Morganton died Sunday, August 18, 2019. Born in Burke County, NC on July 24, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Tom Chapman and Florence Lane Chapman. Lottie was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and sewing, and she loved her church and family.
Lottie is survived by her daughters, Linda Roper, Theresa Dalton, Terry Smith, and Lisa Bowen; grandchildren, Reid Roper, Amy Roper, Angela Hensley, Richard Smith, Jr., and Jason Smith; great-grandchildren, Garen Roper, Teague Roper, Jessica Smith, Jacob Hensley, Jacey Smith, Jackson Smith, Jameson Smith, and Mallory Smith; and a great-grandchild, Dresden Roper.
In addition to her parents, Lottie was preceded in death by a number of brothers and sisters.
Services for Lottie will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Baptist Church, 707 E. Parker Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
