Louise May Sanderlin McDowell, 91, of Morganton, NC went home to be with the Lord and her family, Thursday, October 17, 2019. Born on June 22, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Louisa Sanderlin. Louise was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked many years as a seamstress. Louise loved to cook special meals for her family and others. She was a natural born caregiver and loved helping other people.
Louise is survived by her son, Jimmy McDowell, Sr., and wife, Sarah; daughter, Linda Mull; sister, Dorothy Jones; brother, Edward Sanderlin, Jr.; grandchildren, Danny McDowell, David McDowell, James McDowell, Jr., Michael McDowell; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Louise is preceded in death by her husband, James McDowell, Sr., son, Billy McDowell; grandson, Darrell McDowell; sister, Ida Mae Carver.
The memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, October 25, 2019 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home. Following the service, the family will greet friends at the home of Nora Fernett.
The family will be at the home of 808 Jamestown Road, Morganton, NC 28655 for anyone who would like to pay their respect. Flowers may also be sent to the same address.
