Louise Ramsey Moody

Louise Ramsey Moody, 90 of Hickory, NC died Monday, March 7, 2016. Born in McDowell County on August 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Wylie Nelson Ramsey and Fannie Lou Gibson Ramsey.
Mrs. Moody attended St. Luke’s United Methodist Church where she was a charter member. She was crowned Miss Marion High and also Miss Pleasant Gardens High while in school. Upon high school graduation she went to Woman’s College, Greensboro, NC. Mrs. Moody was married to Dr. William S. Moody in 1945 while he was a B-17 pilot for the US Army Air Corps. She was a sweet loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Moody is survived by her daughter, Louanne Hawn; sons, William Fredrick Moody (Jane), Joe Moody (Donna), and Timothy Ramsey Moody (Patty); grandchildren, Wesley Hawn, Jodi Lanier, Marlise Taylor, Lance Moody, Trent Moody, Amy Lee Jones, Austin Jones, Allison Moody, Brooke Moody, Jamie Hensley, Ashley Moody, and Tim Moody, Jr.; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Moody was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William S. Moody and brothers, Dr. Kenneth Ramsey and Dr. Don Ramsey.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Morganton, NC. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with Dr. Thomas A. Bland, Jr. and Rev. Dr. Tom Sigmon officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery, Hickory, NC.
