Loy Elvin Rovenstine, 91, of Morganton, NC, died Thursday, July 11, 2024.
Born in Campo, Colorado on June 4, 1933, he was the son of the late Elvin Rovenstine and Nema Toten Rovenstine.
Loy was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and a member of West Court Street Baptist Church in Marion. He earned his MBA from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Loy was an avid reader, loved computer work, and loved anything to do with airplanes and aerospace.
Mr. Rovenstine is survived by his wife, Joan Bryant Rovenstine; children, Lori R. Bailey (Rick), Andrea R. Minke (Rob), Barrie Rovenstine, and Dean Short (Cassie); eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Loy was preceded in death by a brother, Burley Rovenstine.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:30 a.m., Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Chaplain Jamie Hazel officiating. Burial will follow in West Court Street Baptist Church Cemetery.
