Loy Mary Lookadoo

Loy Mary Lookadoo, 91, of Morganton, NC went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 after a period of declining health. Born in Watauga County, NC on October 29, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Trivette and Lizzie Harmon Trivette. Loy was a member of North Morganton Baptist Church. Over the years she worked at several local hosiery mills and retired from the Dietary Department of North Carolina School for the Deaf. Her favorite role was mother and home maker.Loy is survived by her husband of 70 years, Chancey Lookadoo of the home; a son, Dennis Lookadoo and wife, Glenda, of Etowah, NC; grandchildren, Shannon Lookadoo and wife, Nichole; and Jonathan Lookadoo; great-grandchildren, Serrin, Chance, Brayden, and Kassie; her sister and best friend, Lora Roberts of Lenoir, NC; and many nieces and nephews and the loved very dearly.In addition to her parents, Loy was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Betty ;brothers, Albert and Auborn Trivette; and sisters, Cazzie Harmon, Carrie Green, Lena Dishman, and Frances Combs.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 27, 2010 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
