Lucille Jean Sanders

Lucille Jean Sanders, 79, of Magnolia Dr. in Morganton died Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Autumn Care of Drexel following a period of declining health. She was born Nov. 12, 1929 in Buncombe Co., and was a daughter of the late Vernon Sanders and Geneva Thomas Sanders. Lucille loved working in her flower garden.She is survived by sisters, Elizabeth McClure and husband, Russell of Glen Alpine, and Helen Sanders of Morganton; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, James, Bobby, and Roy Sanders; and sisters, Marie Ward, Victoria Goldsmith, and Reva Sanders.A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Grandview Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. John L. Whisnant, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
