Lucille Powell Milam

Lucille Powell Milam, 82, of Walker Rd. in Morganton died Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Autumn Care of Drexel following a period of declining health. Born May 2, 1928 in Cleveland County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Bynum and Bertha Wilson. Lucille was a member of Zion Memorial United Methodist Church, and a former employee of Griffin Security.She is survived by a son, Dennis Powell of Morganton; a daughter, Eleanor Harris and husband, Ralph of Marion; grandchildren, Chad Powell of South Hill, VA, Shawn Powell and Tonya Martin, both of Morganton, and Shannon Anderson of Baltimore, MD; and great-grandchildren, Jenna Martin and Noah Martin, both of Morganton, Cody Powell of South Hill, VA, and Kyle Pulver of Baltimore.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 27, 2010 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday one hour before the service. At other times, the family will be at the residence of a granddaughter, Tonya Martin, 109 Newland St. in Morganton.
