Lula Mae Johnson Hudson, 89, of Morganton left this life on Thursday, October 10, 2019. Born in Burke County, NC on December 5, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Guy S. Johnson and Connie Wilson Johnson. Lula was a devoted member of Hopewell Baptist Church and retired from Western Carolina Center.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter, she is survived by her son, H. Brian Hudson of Morganton; daughter, Diane Bolick (Don) of Valdese; grandchildren, Holly Brenna Hudson and Hal Brice Hudson; brother, Ralph Johnson; and sisters, Brenda McKinney and Nell Fletcher.
In addition to her parents, Lula was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Boyles Hudson, USMC Retired; daughter-in-law, Karen M. Hudson; brother, Gilbert Johnson; and sister, Claire Williams.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Hopewell Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with Dr. Danny Emory officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
