Lula Mae Morris, 92, of Morganton went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. Born in Cleveland County, NC on October 6, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Zero Short and Cora Hunt Short. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Lula is survived by her daughter, Brenda Sparks of Morganton; and siblings, Sharleen Blevins and Zane Short, both of Morganton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Sue Carpenter and Lesba Ledford; and brothers, Odell Short, Jo Greer Short, and Charlie Short.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
