Luther Edward Buff, 63, of Piedmont Rd., Morganton, NC died Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at his residence. He was born April 23, 1944 in Burke County, NC, and was a son of the late Clarence Lurico Buff and Mary Martha Bollinger Buff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Shaffer.Luther is survived by his wife, Phyllis Carswell Buff of the home; sons, Danny Lynn Buff and wife, Tonya of Morganton, and Clint Edward Buff of Charlotte, NC; daughters, Lucinda Smith and husband, Scott, of Locust, NC, and Gabrielle Dion Buff of Conover, NC; brothers, Jack Buff, Vernon Buff, and Clyde Buff, all of Morganton; sisters, Barbara Walker and Clara Patton, both of Morganton; grandchildren, Daniel Buff, Tyler Smith, Corey Buff, Scottie Smith, Mica Buff, Will Smith, and Taylor Hinson officiating.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 16, 2007 at Westview Baptist Church with the Reverends Donald Lovelace and Gary Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.
