Lynda Keever Burnette, 81, of Morganton, NC, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024.
Born in Burke County, NC on December 3, 1942, she is the daughter of the late Mable Keever.
Lynda worked as a knitting supervisor at Hanes and as a trucker driver with her husband. She enjoyed watching birds, reading, trips to the beach, and especially Sunday dinners with her family.
Lynda is survived by her sons, Kevin Mitchell Burnette (Tracy), Tracy Burnette (Teresa), and John Burnette, II (Frances); special niece, Michelle Burnette Cooke; special grandson and caregiver, Josh Burnette; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, Lynda was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John Burnette, Sr.; sister-in-law, Brenda Small; and brother-in-law, Wayne Burnette.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
