Lynn Smith 54, of Morganton, NC passed away Friday, July 13, 2018. Born September 27, 1963 in Burke County, she was the daughter of the late Neddie Ray Smith and Betty Ann Lowdermilk Shufford
Lynn loved her family and friends. She enjoyed to ride motorcycles and especially to travel to the beach.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandparents, Arlow Smith, and Robert and Myrtle Lowdermilk.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Nicki Blackburn and husband, Tyler of Hudson; grandchildren, Gavin and Katelyn Blackburn; and the love of her life, Donnie Smith of Mooresville. She is also survived by her grandmother, Mary Ruth Smith Price; sister, Lorrie Stevens of Morganton; brother, Bobby Benfield and wife, Mary of Morganton; nieces and nephews, Desiree Huffman, Avery Lowman, Robby, Logan, and Bradley Benfield; great-nephew, Noah Huffman; life-long best friend, Robin Hubbard; and uncle, Roy Lowdermilk.
The memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Parker officiating.

We met when I was going to ASU. We got along real well. We went to the Wrestling matches in Newland or somewhere up there. You got to meet Angelo "King Kong" Mosca. You liked American Indians and I'm American Indian. Thank you for that and for all the good times we had. I pray God blesses your family.
