Mabel Joy Wellmon, 86, of Carolina Rehab Center of Burke, Connelly Springs, NC died Monday, January 19, 2015. She was born December 14, 1928 in Cleveland County to the late Bozy Seaton Wellmon and Sarah “Mabel” Poston Wellmon. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sisters, Elizabeth Wellmon and Dorothy Boone; brothers, Hershel, Alvin, Frank, and Curtis Wellmon; a nephew and a niece.
Miss Wellmon is survived by her sisters, Nina K. Wellmon and Willie W. Annas; a number of nephews and nieces; and a sister-in-law, Brenda Cashion Wellmon.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Forest Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Sarah Underwood officiating. The family deeply appreciates the excellent care provided to Mabel by Burke Hospice and Carolina Rehab.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
