Madalyn McMahan

Madalyn McMahan, 58, of Morganton went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 25, 2021.  Born in Stanhope, NJ on November 17, 1962, she was the daughter of the late William Ezekiel Rarick and Ruby Jean Whisnant Rarick.  Madalyn was a registered nurse for 25 years and spent many of those years at Caldwell Memorial Hospital.  She was a member of Zion Baptist Church for many years where she served as the Discipleship Training Director.

Madalyn is survived by her daughters, Natosha McMahan and G’Lellier Matthews (Jason); sons, William McMahan (Jennifer); grandchildren, Ty, Maddie, Lainay, Allie, and Ivory; brothers, John Rarick (Gina); and nieces and nephews, Drake, Mason, and Lacie.

In addition to her parents, Madalyn was preceded in death by her husband, James Gregory McMahan.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2021 at Zion Baptist Church.  The memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. in the church with Revs. Keith Rose and Kevin Gauthier officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Baptist Church Youth, 3394 Pea Ridge Road, Morganton, NC 28655.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
