Margaret Ann Cuthbertson Curtis

Margaret Ann Cuthbertson Curtis, 71, died Monday, November 6, 2017.  Born in Burke County, NC on March 2, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Wilson Edgar Cuthbertson and Ruby Irene Mull Cuthbertson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Cuthbertson.

Margaret retired from the NC Employment Security Commission.  She was especially interested in interior decorating and furniture design.  Mrs. Curtis took great pride in designing furniture and accessories for their home, and her husband would build the furniture from her designs.  She and her husband worked as a team on everything they did.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Charles Curtis of the home; daughter, Brooke Curtis Urmann (Bill) of Concord, NC; son, Stephen Curtis (Chris Martin) of Greensboro, NC; sisters, Lenada Williams of Bostic, NC and Winn Fernandes of Plymouth, MA; sisters-in-law, Blanche Cuthbertson of Morganton and Patsy Huntley (Larry) of Fort Mill, SC; step-mother, Sadie Cuthbertson; and animal companions, Baby and Morgan.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The funeral will be held at noon in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Kevin VaLeu officiating.  Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Parkway Baptist Church, 1411 Benjamin Pkwy, Greensboro, NC 27408.
