Margaret Ann Gilbert Saunders

Margaret Ann Gilbert Saunders, 61, of Hickory, NC, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Born March 19, 1954 in Caldwell County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Jim and Ollie Mae Summerow Gilbert. She was a retired nurse and loved gardening and caring for her animals. Margaret was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Grace Chapel United Methodist Church in Granite Falls.
Surviving are her husband, Jimmy Ray Saunders; a daughter, Tara Mode and husband, William of Morganton; a granddaughter, Gracie Mode; a brother, Jimmy Jacob Gilbert of Lenoir, NC; a sister, Betty Miller and husband, Ed of Hudson; nephews and nieces, Allen Stilwell and wife, Danielle of Morganton, David Stilwell of Morganton, Michael Gilbert and wife Sonya of Lenoir, Melissa Gilbert Starnes of Lenoir, and Bobbitt Hensley Miller and husband, Joe of Pennsylvania.
The family will receive friends from Noon to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Denton's Chapel United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. The memorial service will follow in the church at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. David Nolan officiating. Memorial gifts may be made to Caldwell County Hospice, Inc., 902 Kirkwood St., Lenoir, NC 28645.
