Margaret Bass

Margaret Branch Bass, 90, of Valdese, NC passed away Monday, September 26, 2022. Margaret was born June 22, 1932 in Burke County to the late Clem A. Branch and Mary J. Braswell Branch.

Margaret was a member of High Peak Baptist Church in Morganton. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed traveling to Cade’s Cove in Tennessee with Papa.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, JC Pritchard, and was blessed to find her late husband Jim “Papa” Bass; son Larry Pritchard; two brothers; and one sister.

Margaret is survived by her children, Libby Bridges, Delores Trenary (Gilbert), James Bass (Cathy), Kaye Cook (Mike), Joyce Wilber (Mike), and Karen Suttles (Tim); and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Friday September 30 2022 in the Colonial Chapel at Sossoman Funeral Home with Dr. Kevin Purcell officiating. Burial will follow at Pritchard Clontz Cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
