Margaret Bridges Harris

Margaret Bridges Harris, 85, of Morganton, died Saturday, March 25, 2006 at her home. She was born February 6, 1921 in Burke County to the late George and Ethel Morrison Bridges. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dewey Bridges, and a step-daughter, Judy Harris.

Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Harris Mull and husband Kenneth Mull of Morganton; two grandchildren, Mary and Seth Mull of Morganton; a son, Robert Harris of Morganton; a sister, Beatrice Bridges Hodge and husband, Archie Hodge, of Rutherfordton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Margaret was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Morganton and retired from Waldensian Bakery. In addition, she was an active member of the Morganton Woman’s Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, and active in the Variety Club.

The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, March 27, 2006 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 407 S. Green Street, Morganton, NC 28655.
