Margaret Curtis Price, 91, of Morganton died Sunday, May 13, 2018 after many years of declining health. Born on February 27, 1927 in Ellenboro, NC, she was the daughter of the late Willie Everett Curtis and Lizzie Bowen Curtis.
Margaret was a member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church. In 1980 she retired from Broughton Hospital, and she later worked at the Morganton News Herald inserting sales circulars into the papers. Margaret enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking. She also enjoyed making her deviled eggs, casseroles, banana pudding coconut cakes, and pies for family reunions and church gatherings. She would especially make sweet potato pie for Blaine and pumpkin pie for Chip. Margaret also found joy in entertaining and playing card games, particular SetBack. She enjoyed spending time on the coast collecting seashells and collecting pictures of lighthouses.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Ernest Buff; sons, Blaine (Dana) Price and Chip Price; grandchildren, Katie Hamby, Rhett Price, Josh Price, and Michelle (Derrick) Abee; 5 great-grandchildren; step-sons, Shannon and Randy Buff; step-daughter, Corrie Hall; nieces, Sandy Hensley, Jackie Grier, Doris Watts, and Linda Curtis of Morganton, and numerous other nieces and nephews; her foreign exchange student/daughter, Figen Tokucoglu; and her cats, Rowdy and Bootsie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edgar Price; 3 brothers; and 5 sisters.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Cross Memorial Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. in the church with Dr. Jeffrey Beach officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. At other times the family will be at the home on Evans Street.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
