Margaret Hunter

Margaret Hunter, 87, of Greensboro (formerly of Morganton, NC for 42 years) passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012. Born in Wayne County, NC on September 23, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Fred Jason Burroughs and Viola Wilson Burroughs. Margaret loved the Lord with all her heart and served him daily. She enjoyed singing, reading, teaching, and baking for family and friends. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and was loved by many. The world has lost one of its angels while heaven has gained another.Margaret is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Woodell and her husband, Ray, of Greensboro; a son, Jerry Cunningham of Morganton, NC; step-sons, Ronnie Hunter and his wife, Vivian, of Charleston, SC and Don Hunter and his wife, Eva, of Wilkesboro, NC; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Parks Hunter, and a brother, Floyd Burroughs.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Thompson and Rev. John Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the church foyer for one hour prior to the service.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
