Margaret Ledbetter Townsend

Margaret Ledbetter Townsend, 95, of Valdese died Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Mrs. Townsend was born February 15, 1920 in Rutherford County to the late Raleigh Richard Ledbetter and Lily Belle Whitaker Ledbetter. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Valdese.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Minnie Bailey Ledbetter; husband, S. Carroll Townsend; brothers, Richard “R.K.” Ledbetter, Thomas Ledbetter and John Ledbetter; and sister, Sarah Ledbetter Wall.
Mrs. Townsend is survived by special friends and many nieces and nephews from her family and her husband’s family. She was also blessed with loving caregivers, Brenda Barus, Renee Foxx and Sharon Whisnant.
There will be a private committal service at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
