Margie Fisher Stillwell

Margie Fisher Stillwell, 94, of Morganton, NC died Friday, May 27, 2016.  Born in Catawba County, NC on January 3, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Pinkney Fisher and Laura Lou Pitts Tallent.  Margie was a member of Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church and was an avid gardener.  She was a former employee of Morganton Full Fashion Hosiery Mill and a retired employee of Western Carolina Center.

Mrs. Stillwell is survived by her sons, Ronnie L. Fisher and his wife, Marinetta, of Morganton and Dwight D. Stillwell of Granite Falls, NC; grandchildren, Steve Fisher and his wife, Tisha, Chip Fisher and his wife, Heida, Wendy Cook and her husband, Andy, and Shanda Stillwell; and great-grandchildren, Patch Fisher, Cameron Fisher, Kendal Fisher, Dylan Cook, and Chase Stillwell.

In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Marston Stillwell; and a large number of half-brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 am – 1 p.m., Monday, May 30, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Burke Memorial Park with the Rev. Chris Uren officiating.
