Marie Baker Rogers

Marie Baker Rogers, 80 of Morganton, NC went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, February 14, 2021. Born on July 21, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Will and Beatrice Baker.  Marie was a faithful and dedicated member of Silver Creek Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family and her church. Marie enjoyed working in the sewing room at J. Iverson Riddle Center. She liked to travel and work in her yard growing beautiful flowers. Marie most enjoyed working at her church.

Marie is survived by her husband of 64, years, William Stanley Rogers; daughter, Debbie Rogers Wilson; sons, Michael Stanley Rogers (Kathy), Dwight David Rogers (Monica); grandchildren, Jennifer Rogers Grycki (Robert), Rebecca Wilson Glover (Lee), Garrett Gillison (Becca), Maggie Holder (Heath); great-grandchildren, Rachel Grycki, Lawson Glover, Hannah Grycki, Carlee Glover, Abigail Grycki; brothers and sisters, Claude Baker, Randall Baker, Eula Mae Shook, Kathy Edwards; a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her sister, Sadie Gertrude Baker; son-in-law, Dean Wilson.

The family will receive friends from 1pm until 2pm, Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in the fellowship hall of Silver Creek Baptist Church with COVID protocols in place. The funeral service will be held at 2pm, in the church, with COVID protocols in place, with the Rev. Larry Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The funeral service may also be heard in the parking lot of the church over the outside speakers.

Memorial contributions may be made to Silver Creek Baptist Church.
