Marie Duckworth Causby

Marie Duckworth Causby, 92 of Morganton, NC passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017. She was born March 3, 1925 in Burke County, NC and was the daughter of the late Rufus Tilman Duckworth and Leila Duckworth Caraway. Marie was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She loved her family and church family at Salem United Methodist Church. She was always proud of her work, particularly her experiences as a young woman in Washington, D.C. and Oak Ridge, TN.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy; sisters, Indiana Smith, Vivian Dolan, Phyllis Grady; brothers, Glenn Duckworth, Bill Duckworth and Donald Caraway.
Marie is survived by sons, Ronny Causby (Caroline), and Glenn Causby (Lucy); daughters, Beth Whitaker (Martin), and Jenny Gay Causby; grandchildren, Joe Causby, Wesley Causby, Justin Causby (Samantha), Elizabeth Causby (Grant), and Jared Causby; great-grandchild, Genevieve Causby; sister, Frances Franklin; brother, Lawrence Caraway; and numerous nephews and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Salem United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at the church at 1:00 p.m. with Reverends Norm Jones and John Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
