Marie "Summer" Buchanan

Marie "Summer" Buchanan, 33, of Morganton, NC died Friday, April 8, 2011 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Born in Rutherford County, NC on May 17, 1977, she was the daughter of Thomas Howell Buchanan of Nebo, NC and Vickie M. Bailey of Morganton. Summer was a member of Lighthouse Ministries. She was preceded in death by a brother, Rick Buchanan.In addition to her parents, Summer is survived by two sons, Richie McKinney and Jacob Buchanan, both of the home.A celebration of Summer’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2011 at Light House Ministries with Pastor Donna O’Neal officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the home of Linda Perrigan on Deer Meadow Lane, Morganton. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
