Marilyn Bergelin

Marilyn Bergelin, 63, of Morganton, NC passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 at her residence. Born in Mecosta County, MI on May 12, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Milton Dale Fenstermacher and Eleanor Stoner Fenstermacher. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Marilyn was a mother of two wonderful children and a loving grandmother to her four special granddaughters.Marilyn is survived by her husband, Christopher Speir Bergelin of the home; children, Thad Bergelin and wife, Amy, of Newton, NC and Jennifer B. Chaney and husband, David, of Lincolnton, NC; granddaughters, Katie and Lindsey Bergelin and Emma and Mia Chaney; siblings, Donald Fenstermacher and wife, Myrna, of Belmont, MI and Nancy Randall and husband, Jim, of Big Rapids, MI; and a number of nephews and nieces.In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Gallardo.The memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Michael Bailey officiating. The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the service.Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
