Marilyn Ednita Brown Canipe

Marilyn Ednita Brown Canipe, 67, of Scott Rd. in Morganton died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC following a period of declining health. She was born September 23, 1941 in Burke County, and was a daughter of the late Ed Brown and Emma Belle Johnson Brown. She was a member of Rainhill Wesleyan Church.Marilyn is survived by her husband, William Jack Canipe of the home; a son, Kevin Canipe and wife, Beverly, of Morganton; a daughter, Jackie Greer and husband, David, of Morganton; a sister, Ruhama Dale of Morganton; and grandchildren, Heather Canipe, Katie Canipe, Kristen Canipe, Kyle Orders, Cole Orders, Ashlee Greer, and Jacob Greer.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Brown.Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2008 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Taber and Rev. Eddy Bunton officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
