Martha Ann Dale Causby

Martha Ann Dale Causby, 94, of the Salem Community, Morganton, NC passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017.  Born in Burke County, NC on May 1, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Frank Dale and Mamie Crawley Dale.  Martha worked in the furniture industry and at several area restaurants.

Mrs. Causby is survived by her sons, James “Flop” Dale, Jr. and wife, Sue, of Salem and Michael Warren Dale of Lincolnton, NC; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren;1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Nelleen Davis and Mozelle Duckworth; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her first husband, James Arthur Dale, Sr.; second husband, Preston Causby; sons, John Henry Dale and William Dale; and a daughter, Carolyn Ann Dale.

The graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Friday, October 6, 2017 at Burke Memorial Park.  The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday at Denton’s Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Phillip Hefner and the Rev. David Orders officiating.  The family will greet friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.  At other times the family will be at the residence of James “Flop” Dale.
