Martha Carlson

Martha Carlson, 86, of Morganton, NC, formerly of Chicago, IL., went home to be with her Lord on Monday, August 26, 2019. Born on February 25, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Vincenza Taylor. Martha was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church. She loved to sing and also loved her family.

Martha is survived by her children, Debbie Cooper (Rev. Ron), Kathy Legions (Dusty), Richard Carlson; grandchildren, Denise Whitfield (Dave), Joe Legions (Cherelle), Tina Zaworski (Stan), Joy White (Brad); 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Dave Taylor.

In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Leroy J. Carlson; son, Steven Carlson; sisters, Mary Polizzi, Emily Coglianese, and Rose Gerali.

The family will receive friends from 3:00pm until 4:00pm, Friday, August 30, 2019 at El Bethel Baptist Church. The service will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the church with the Revs. Justin Cunningham and Ron Cooper officiating.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
