Martha Elizabeth Martin Sisk

Martha Elizabeth Martin Sisk, 92 of Morganton died Friday, June 2, 2017.  Martha was born July 27, 1924 in Guilford County to the late Napoleon Martin and Mamie Davis Martin.  She was a member of Mountain Grove United Methodist Church.  Martha was a loving wife, mother grandmother and great-grandmother.  She enjoyed the outdoors and loved sports and she excelled in aquatic sports and basketball.

In addition to her parent she was preceded in death by her five brothers and two sisters.

Martha is survived by her husband of 73 years, Robert Bruce “Bob” Sisk; children, Bruce Sisk and wife, Rita, of Morganton, Robert Anthony “Tony” Sisk of Orlando FL Jill Sisk Moore of Morganton, and Annette Smith and husband, Sam of Morganton;  six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 5, 2017 at Mountain Grove United Methodist Church.  A celebration of life service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Kathy McAfee officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Grove United Methodist Church, 3645 Fish Hatchery Rd., Morganton, NC 28655 or to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
